Dave Grohl in a recent Rolling Stone, slightly paraphrased:
"I played "Sun God" by Squirrel Bait recently for [Foo Fighters drummer] Taylor Hawkins. He said, “Wow, was Kurt really into this band? Goddamn if this doesn’t sound like Nirvana.” - Actually Taylor, it was the other way around."
For any Louisvillian into punk/hardcore, this is a huge testament on how incredible the scene was back in the 80s/90s. I had just moved there in 1987 and everyone I jammed with constantly talked about Squirrel Bait, they were huge in the town's eyes.

Too bad its taken 20+ years for them to get any national exposure like this. I'll post a bunch of the bands that have come out of the scene if anyone is interested.
